I was thrilled to hear that both of my quilts, MIMBRES SECTION and SPIRIT MARKINGS, were accepted into the New Mexico: Unfoldingexhibition at the Capitol Rotunda Gallery in Santa Fe.  I feel so honored!  I was also very surprised to see that MIMBRES SECTION was selected as the cover art for the postcard.  Again, just tickled pink!

MIMBRES SECTION is titled to reflect the depiction of the Mimbres River Valley in the quilt…a section through the sky, grassy fields, the river and the underground.  I find the Mimbres images and symbols so modern in design and used them in the lower part of the quilt, starting to deteriorate in the earth, but still remaining.  You might recognize the grasses from my holiday greeting.
